From Algorithmic Control to Human–Machine Collaboration: A Review of Research on Technology Responses in Employee Workplaces

Against the widespread deployment of algorithmic systems in workplace organizations, existing studies mostly focus on their technical implementation, transparency mechanisms and social impacts, yet few systematically summarize employees’ technology‑oriented coping strategies under algorithmic control. This paper reviews relevant literature from six dimensions: terminology framing, algorithmic literacy, system design logic, prediction calibration, and socio‑cultural embeddedness. It sorts out the theoretical evolution from algorithmic control toward human‑machine collaboration. The review suggests that organizations should move past pure technical optimization, attach importance to individual differences and institutional contexts, and adopt participatory forward‑engineering design to realize human‑machine co‑creation.
