Enhancing Sustainable Consumption and Production for Poverty Alleviation in Eleme, River State of Nigeria

This study examines the impact of sustainable consumption and production (SCP) practices on poverty alleviation in Eleme, River State, Nigeria. By employing a mixed-methods approach, the research delves into the intricate relationship between resource wealth generation, socioeconomic indicators, and poverty levels. The study utilizes both primary and secondary data collection methods, including surveys, interviews, and focus group discussions, alongside analysis of existing literature and statistical data. A multiple linear regression model is employed to assess the impact of economic growth, employment rate, wealth distribution, and income level on poverty reduction. The findings of this research are expected to provide valuable insights into the potential of SCP practices to alleviate poverty in resource-rich regions. By identifying key factors influencing poverty levels and understanding the complex interplay between economic growth, social equity, and environmental sustainability, policymakers, and practitioners can develop targeted interventions to promote sustainable development and improve the well-being of communities in Eleme and similar regions.
